Six scripts were selected. Because one of the scripts was a one-woman show, the company dropped to 45, and consisted of national, Florida, local and student artists. Included were Kimberly Scott (Tony-nominated actress), Shelby Jiggetts-Tivony, (Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk!), Kerry C. Davis, (Angels in America), and Robert Aberdeen, (Love of Life, The Greatest American Hero). The Tribute to Playwrights (sponsored by SunTrust and ASPEC), a one-woman show, IVY ROWE, starred Barbara Bates Smith. Diversity was the hallmark of WB'99. Two of the plays were written by African-Americans; a third dealt with an inter-cultural relationship in Jerusalem; another with difficulties associated with sexual preference issues and a fifth looked at the way Hispanics are treated in our culture. Since one of the six selected scripts was "ready for an audience," WB'99 concluded with a performances of DUPPY STORIES featuring Kimberly Scott. The WORDBRIDGE ‘99 Spring Showcase, SUNDAY MORNING 2 MEN COOKING by Margaret Baldwin was directed by television and Broadway veteran, Robert Aberdeen.
