Lisa D'Amour [WB95] had a production last winter of THE SHAPE OF AIR complete with original music, masks, stylistic dance and movement evocative of the Japanese Noh theatre tradition. Was selected, along with Megan Gogerty [WB97-98], as a Jerome Fellow at the Minneapolis Playwright's Center for 97-98. Of her WordBRIDGE experience, she says, "I can't tell you the number of times I have drawn on the skills, discipline, patience and courage which I discovered during my month in Florida. Keep up the good work!"

Henry Bakker [WB96] is a dramaturg at a theatre in Canada.

P. Seth Bauer [WB96] THE BURGLAR OF SUBURBIA received its first Equity production at Capitol City Playhouse last summer in Austin. Seth is currently working as an arts outreach administrator for the City of Austin and the Texas Young Playwrights Festival. He is developing a possible screenplay about his grandparents and Sedona, Arizona.

Merri Biechler’s [WB07] Confessions of a Reluctant Caregiver had a reading in New York and is a finalist for the Alliance Theatre’s Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Competition. Her play Real Girls Can't Win! had a reading in Chicago at Victory Gardens in December, 2007. Merri also was a finalist for Clubbed Thumb's Second Biennial Commission.

George Brant's (WB 07) Elephant's Graveyard had its world premiere in Austin, Texas. You can read the review here.

Darin Brooks [WB95] currently lives in NYC and is applying for admission to Pratt Institute where he will pursue an MS in interior design.

Kelly Byrne [WB95] BRAIN BABIES was a winner at the 1995 21st Century Playwrights Festival.

M. Elena Carrillo [WB96] had a production of CALL THE SERPENT GOD TO ME [retitled THE SUN IN DARKNESS] at the Border Playfest in Las Cruces, NM. Her script received an Honorable Mention from the 1996 21st Centry Playwrights Festival.

Amy Cianci [WB96-98] landed a teaching assistantship at VCI where she began work on a masters in costuming this fall.

Chris Connors [WB95] is working on his masters in dramaturgy at the University of Indiana.

Deborah C. Conow [WB95] is teaching drama in an alternative school, working primarily with pregnant minors and young mothers, and has introduced a guest artist series for the school. Between teaching and raising two children she tries to find time for her writing and hopes to be doing some acting in the near future.

Thea Cooper [WB97] has moved from Connecticut to New York City. She's been subletting in CT, working three jobs, and looking for a comfortable urban nest. Her WB play, MARRY ME, was produced this past Jan. and Feb. at the Riverside Theatre in Iowa City.

Ben FitzSimons [WB97] worked with WB alums Carlo De Rosa, Michael Farewell, Chuck Kartali, and Jackie Tantillo on a film version of his WB play, JUPITER'S GREEN DAISY. The film version is called HIGH SPIRITS. Copies are available from Carlo or Michael.

Robert Ford [WB97] was awarded a Post-Graduate James Michener Fellowship from the Texas Center for Writers which will support him for another year of writing. He graduated with an MFA in Playwriting from UT-Austin last May. Bob and fellow WB alum John Walch [WB96] joined dramaturg Michael Wright at PlayWorks in El Paso in June 97 where Bob kicked off a new play called UNFINISHED SYMPHONIES about a woman claiming to channel the work of dead composers. For the foreseeable future, Bob's working on a novel tentatively called KILLING BRAHMS.
